ASHRAE 90.1 – 2007 Energy Conservation Code Effective May 6, 2010, Indiana has joined many states in adopting ASHRAE 90.1-2007 as the model energy conservation code. With Indiana amendments, this new code is known as the 2010 Indiana Energy Conservation Code. This update represents the first substantial commercial energy code legislation in nearly two decades and raises the minimum requirements for the energy efficiency for all commercial building projects in the state. This change will have a significant impact in the healthcare industry. The intent of this code is to reduce operating costs, maximize efficiency and create more healthful, greener environments.
